Health industry Executive Telstra

Tanya Felton is Telstra’s Global Industries leader for healthcare. She has an extensive background in healthcare with a focus on technology and a passion for smarter, connected hospitals and health systems. Since joining Telstra in 2011, Tanya works with customers to create innovative solutions to solve the challenges of delivering health services in an increasingly complex environment. Prior to joining Telstra, Tanya was Business Leader, Healthcare for Honeywell in South Asia and Pacific.

Dr Norman Swan FRCP, DCH, MD (Hon Causa) (Moderator)
Radio National, The Health Report, ABC

Dr Norman Swan hosts The Health Report on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s Radio National, and Tonic on ABC News24 (Television). The Health Report is the world’s longest running health programme in the English speaking world and Norman has won many awards for his work including Australia’s top prize for journalism, the Gold Walkley. He was only the third person to be awarded the prestigious medal of the Australian Academy of Science and was given an honorary MD by the University of Sydney on its 150th anniversary.

Jeffrey Tobias
Chairman and Managing Director The Strategy Group

Dr. Jeffrey Tobias’ career in innovation has spanned the world of academia, big and small business, government and research. He is an accomplished strategist with years of commercial and business experience. During his career, Dr. Tobias has incubated and grown a medium size business to $100m in revenue, participated in public service policy formulation, led the Smart Internet Technology CRC as CEO, sought venture funding and managed funds, built vertical markets in the healthcare and retail spaces, and used his entrepreneurial skills to start and grow a number of commercial operations. His most recent corporate role was leading the global Innovations Practice for IBSG, Cisco Inc’s executive consulting arm. Dr. Tobias is an adjunct professor at the Australian Graduate School of Management at UNSW.

Terry Kearney
CEO – Education and Health Enterprises Springfield Land Corporation

Terry Kearney has held senior positions at Springfield Land Corporation over the last 8 years. Prior to this, Terry has over 40 years of experience in the education sector. In his Government senior executive roles, Terry has worked on workforce learning and development, school administration, leadership, performance, innovative strategy and indigenous education and training. In his role as Chief Executive Officer for Education, Health, and Smart City he is responsible for the development and integration of the respective strategies. Terry has studied leadership, organisation learning, change management and effective business practices at Melbourne Business School and has worked and studied with teams from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
